Penny and Giles Faders
- Dr. Beck
I use CAIG MCL (moving contact lubricant) on the P&G faders ***NEVER TOUCH
THE CAT'S WHISKER WIPER CONTACTS*** . The MCL seems to leave enough
lubricant on the rails. The problem with Vaseline is that it makes them
very smooth but dust and dirt sticks to the Vaseline more readily than to a
smoother not so sticky surface.
If a contaminate (coke, Pepsi, coffee etc) has landed on the conductive
plastic contact then a mild detergent (1 eye drop of dish detergent in a
warm cup of water. Wipe gently with a cue tip without touching the cat's
whisker contacts. Once the contaminates are removed clean with a cue tip
then wipe with isopropynol this will displace any water left behind. Next
give it a shot of MCL along the rails and conductive plastic surface.
Switches - Dr. Beck
I use the CAIG De-oxit on the switches. I also use the MCL on the older A&B
pots. Usually just working the conductive plastic pots back and forth will
clean them up. On the A&B pots one can inject a bit of MCL into the cracks
and bring them back to life.
